At the elevation of 1,750 m, Yamabiko-so is located right in front of Nyukasa Marsh, which is famous for beautiful Japanese lilies of the valley. When you are staying at the lodge, you can stroll the marsh just like your garden.
The owner is a mushroom specialist
Many people come here for the wild vegetables and mushroom harvested by the owner. As a park ranger, he can give you a guide on alpine flowers and mushrooms here.
Treasure trove of flowers, Nyukasa Marsh
Throughout a year, many people visit Nyukasa Marsh, also known as the treasure trove of flowers. People come here for the hike, flowers, snow trekking, and most of all, for Japanese lilies of the valley.
Flower-themed souvenirs
A small shop inside of the lodge sells lovely postcards with flower embroidery and flower badges. Great souvenirs of Mt. Nyukasa.
If you are a fun of alpine flowers...
They have a volunteer group to protect the nature of Nyukasa Marsh, and Yamabiko-so is the headquarter office. They are looking for more members!
